Our walkway

Unlike my dad, I haven't gotten used to skiing with a decent-sized camera. It was a great day on the mountain, but I didn't have my camera on me. Luckily, I took sunrise shot on the way to the mountain, which ended up being the only pictures from the day.

*What we call the fake, electrical faralitos 'round here. The real candle-powered only come out on Christmas Eve.

Camp
Unless I manage to upload pictures from my camera of the New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade C and I participated in at the ski hill, today will feature a pre-dawn, serene camp still tucked in by snow.

C calls me up that week and confesses he bought a new pair of skis. So of course we had to try them out. What better place than closing day at Taos, a glorious powder day? Why we didn't hike Kachina Peak, I still don't know. He now loves those twin-tip, powder-floatin' fatties, by the way.

My Altima, somewhere between the ski hill and home

Java's never ridden in the Altima much, since there's no station wagon trunk to keep him in. This was the first time he got the front seat and it went well, considering he'd end up there anyway.

This is Java, the family dog. He loves it when the ski hill closes and I get to take him skinning/skiing. Java- faster on way up, me- faster on way down.

Daily Snap: Gonna Try It

One of the reasons I wanted to start a blog was to better stay in touch with far-off friends and family as I move across the country. Another reason was to take and then share a photo a day, so I think I'll try it after all. This is quite the lofty goal, considering I don't typically take a photo a day and I've never blogged. So here we go- I'll be backdating these so that there's one a day since it's actually a couple days later.
